The front door, or the main door, is very important i feng shui, no matter we are speaking of the front door of a home or the front door of a business. In feng shui, the house gets its energy or nourishment through the front door, so the stronger, healthier and more balanced the front door is, the stronger and better the quality of energy available for those who live in the house.
So, on arriving at the front door of a recent clients home, I couldn’t believe my eyes, the paint at the front door was peeling away, there were cobwebs hanging at the door, the plants were all dead at the front of the house, the small. A large broken pot lay beside the door. It looked so sad & neglected. To the unknowing eye, it looked like the house was not lived in. After speaking to the couple, the past 8 months had been particularly difficult for them. I asked what had changed in their lives since then in the house, they had built a car port to the back of the house and had stopped using the front door!! Please excuse the very wonky picture! This is how I found it… After I explained this the couple took immediate action – cleaned the door, got some new plants and this is just the start it’s been painted it’s best feng shui colour this week!
The front door is just like the mouth of the house the same as the mouth of a body. If we don’t feed it with food aka energy and give it attention our bodies start to deplete just like our houses.
This is very important for people in the countryside who often don’t use the front door!
1. An unobstructed, open flow of energy to the front door. This means there are no recycling bins, cracked old pots with dead plants or any other items blocking the flow of energy to your front door.
2. A front door that is well-cared for. A front door that opens widely without squeaking, a front door that has good looking (crack free) door hardware and paint. No odd looking, unused nails around the door frame, no rusty doorknobs, no worn out Christmas wreaths in July… you get the idea!
3. A front door that is in harmony with the feng shui element of its direction. The direction of the front door is very important in feng shui, so in order to harness the best energy it is advisable to choose a feng shui colour that is in harmony with the feng shui element of its direction. This is determined during consultation..
4. A strong feng shui front door opens up to a smooth flow of energy in the main entry. The efforts of attracting the best feng shui energy to your house will be wasted if your main entry does not have good feng shui. You need to channel the good feng shui energy throughout your house, and it all starts in your main entry. So a lovely welcome mat, some plants & flowers at the door, a path entrance without weeds, a gate that opens easily.
As with most things.. it’s the little things that can make a big difference, really looking forward to hear all the other positive changes in this household once the other recommendations are put in place… feel free to share this info with your friends..and send me some pictures of your before and afters!!!
