Grow Your Career and Get Your Next Promotion using Feng Shui

How to get your next promotion with Feng Shui? I am so excited. I love this topic so much because I’ve seen so many of my clients follow these exact steps to get their promotion. I’m going to cover a few things that I think are really key to setting yourself up for success and to call in your next promotion in your career.

The very first thing I invite you to do is to write down what you want. So if you don’t know what you want, the universe, God, spirit is going to give it to you. If you don’t declare it and actually say I want a new job. I want a new job, I want a promotion, it’s not gonna happen. My invitation first is to sit down and write down your dream job, just have fun. Imagine that I have a magic wand and I’m saying to you this is everything that you can imagine from this promotion, whatever it is: a car, amazing travel, amazing team, whatever it is write it all down, get it all down, and then you might be thinking “I don’t really know what I want.” Well, the easiest way to figure out what you want is to think of what you don’t want and then you can look at the opposite. So all you have to do is like literally go, I don’t want that, well then what’s the opposite of that? and write it all down. That is a really important step, because when you write it down, there’s like there’s amazing studies done about the fact of writing down goals, the chances of them happening are like 100 times more.

Second step is creating an affirmation or intention that supports that promotion. Now I’m going to share with you an affirmation that I used when I was in India. I quit my job and I moved to India to become a yoga teacher, I thought I was going to be in India for a month. I ended up there for nearly a year and honestly I did not know what I was going to do in my life when I came back. I had no clue, I trained in yoga, I trained in sound healing, all these random things and I didn’t know what my job was going to be or even if I would get a job, but I started reciting this affirmation and the affirmation was this “I work at a job I truly enjoy doing, working with people I love, who loves me, expressing my creative talents daily”. When I came back from India, I discovered that it’s a very different type of lifestyle here and I also added “getting really well paid”.

Why I want to talk and why I’m sharing that information with you? is that it doesn’t have a job description, it doesn’t have a job title. What it has is the essence of the feeling of it like so I work at a job, okay I work, with people I love, so that’s enjoyable like we always want to be around people who we love, who inspire us, who love me. So obviously I want people who like me, and expressing my creative talents. So expressing yourself and sharing whatever your gifts are in the world and then getting really well paid for it you know, there’s your income. 

So I would invite you to create an affirmation for yourself, think about what you could do, what affirmation or intention that would sink into what it is that you want?. I work in a job where I’m highly acknowledged whatever it is that feels good. It doesn’t have to be the exact job description but it can be loose and repeat it. That affirmation I was using over 10 years ago. It still rolls off my tongue. Do you know why it still rolls off my tongue? Because I said it so many times. I was in a place I was really lost so I had no idea what I was doing with my life. And I was like, oh, okay, I’m just gonna put this out there and it really can help you get clarity so that clarity is super, super important. 

Now the career area of your home is the north part of your home and if you find your north area just needs a compass and have a look and see if you can see where north is and then within the North area. The main thing I would recommend here is just decluttering like clearing it out. Just as you clear out and make space in that area you’re setting the intentions and even putting your affirmation in that area is a good idea for the career and maybe your dream job description, write it all down with the clearing out your letting go of the new space. 

The other thing that I would say is like I have a great example of a client who got a promotion. But what she did was actually she got a new job, but she knew who she wanted to work for. She knew the company she wanted to work for. She actually got the logo of the company that she wants to work for, and popped it into her career area. It was like that’s who I want to work for, she just made it her business to anchor that into her home. So that it would be a really good idea if you know who it is that you want to work for. If there’s a company that is like “that’s my dream company to work for”, do that. 

The other part is, start to let go and clear out things from your own work. If you are in a current job, and you’ve got projects that you worked on that you no longer like, that are over and finished. Clear it out, do a digital declutter of your computer, do a digital declutter of your phone, any emails clear out so you just like kind of cleaning things up. It’s like if I was leaving this job, prepare to leave your current job. “I was leaving this job, what would I need to do? What do I need to do to make SOPs? Would I need to do this? What would really make a very smooth process of me for this promotion? Start doing those things, start thinking about, “How can I start? like really making that difference. 

The other one is like a logical one but also like pim up your LinkedIn. My sister wanted to work for Apple and she’s just literally had such an amazing journey getting that clarity of who or what she wanted to work for. She’d worked in finance for lots of  supermarket chains and big retailers for years. And she’s like I don’t want to do that anymore, she was offered a job in that same industry and she could do their eyes closed. She was like, “I don’t work in the industry anymore. I want to work in the high value, luxury brand business” and I was like okay, well that’s very clear and literally a few weeks later, she got offered a job working with L’Oreal in the makeup branding area of Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurant. So basically she was working for Yves Saint Laurant, an amazing brand and it was so clear. She was like I want to work for luxury brands that are doing that. So that’s how she got that clear and then a few years later, she decided I actually the dream company that I want to work for is Apple. She pimped up her LinkedIn and lo and behold she got offered a job with Apple. So you know our clarity is super important and then make space in your career area, clear out things that are associated with your current job to make space for that new one.
